CopilotKit takes $27M Series A to push AI agents into apps
The Seattle-based app-native agent deployment platform says the round will help scale its open-source AG-UI protocol and embed AI agents directly inside applications.
CopilotKit is building what it calls an app-native agent deployment platform, with tools for developers to build fullstack agentic applications and generative UIs inside their own products. The Seattle-based company has now raised $27 million in a Series A, according to the announcement.
No lead investor was disclosed.
The funding is being tied to two closely related bets already visible on CopilotKit’s site: scaling the open-source AG-UI protocol and helping developers embed AI agents directly inside applications. AG-UI, or Agent–User Interaction, is described by the company as a general-purpose, bi-directional connection between a user-facing app and any agentic backend. The company also points developers to frontend SDKs, agentic backend connections, and user interaction surfaces, framing its stack as infrastructure for building agent-driven product experiences rather than standalone chatbots.
CopilotKit is positioning itself around app-native AI and in-app generative UI. Its site says developers can bring their own agents, models, or frameworks, and points to features including generative UI, human-in-the-loop workflows, threads, and persistence. It also says the company offers first-party integrations from leading agent stacks including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, LangChain, Oracle, Mastra, Pydantic AI, Agno, Tavily, TanStack, Daytona, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, AG2, Tako and Zencoder.
The company’s market pitch is enterprise-heavy. CopilotKit says it is trusted by the majority of the Fortune 500s and Global 50, and highlights customers and logos including Cisco, Apple, Walmart, Disney, Bank of America, Deutsche Telekom, Tesla, Ford, Toyota, Honda, Boeing, Salesforce, Intel, HP, Dell, AT&T, Comcast, Wells Fargo, Citi, Mastercard, Costco, Nike, Shell, General Electric, Booking.com, FedEx, UPS, Tripadvisor, UKG, Docusign, McDonald’s and SoundCloud.
In its own words, CopilotKit is building for agents “beyond the web,” including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord and Google Chat, but its core pitch remains the same: give developers the plumbing to put agentic experiences directly into the apps users already use.
