CopilotKit secures Series A as its AG-UI stack spreads across enterprise apps

CopilotKit, a Seattle-based app-native agent deployment platform, has raised a $27 million Series A led by Glilot Capital, NFX, and SignalFire.

The company builds what it calls an “agentic frontend stack,” with frontend SDKs, backend connections, user interaction surfaces, and an enterprise intelligence platform for building fullstack agentic applications and generative UIs. In practical terms, CopilotKit is focused on helping developers embed AI agents directly inside applications and connect user-facing software to agentic backends through its AG-UI protocol.

The company’s site frames the new financing around scaling that open-source AG-UI protocol and expanding tools for developers deploying app-native AI agents. Its product pitch centers on letting developers bring their own agents, models, or frameworks, while using CopilotKit to power generative UI, human-in-the-loop workflows, threads, persistence, and chat components. It also highlights first-party integrations with major platforms and ecosystems including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, LangChain, Oracle, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, and others.

CopilotKit is also making a competitive argument that agent experiences should live inside existing software rather than only on the web. An early-access program on its site points to “agents beyond the web,” including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, and Google Chat. That broadens its positioning from developer tooling for in-app assistants to infrastructure for deploying agents across the communication surfaces where users already work.

On traction, the company says it has 30.6k GitHub stars and describes itself as trusted by the majority of the Fortune 500s and Global 50. Its homepage lists a wide range of recognizable brands, including Cisco, Apple, Walmart, Disney, Bank of America, Tesla, Salesforce, Intel, Nike, Shell, FedEx, and McDonald’s. It also calls itself the company behind the AG-UI protocol, which it defines as a general-purpose, bi-directional connection between a user-facing application and any agentic backend.

That gives CopilotKit a distinct place in the current AI tooling stack: not the model layer, but the layer where agents meet users inside software. This Series A gives the company capital to keep building that interface layer while pushing AG-UI further into enterprise and developer workflows.
