Mosaic closes $18M Series A for its private-markets deal modeling platform
Radical Ventures led the round, which Mosaic says will support its effort to build an AI-driven operating system for deal makers.
Mosaic, a provider of AI-driven deal modeling software for private markets, has raised an $18 million Series A. The company says the financing is aimed at building an AI-driven operating system for deal makers.
The product is designed for specific workflows that still consume large amounts of time inside investment firms and advisory teams: screening new opportunities, collaborating as a deal team, and verifying Excel math. On its website, Mosaic positions the platform as commercial-grade software that can generate near-instantaneous deal math, with rules-based algorithms intended to avoid hallucinations, skipped steps, and broken formula links. It also emphasizes that its models are downloadable to Excel with working formulas, signaling that the pitch is not to replace spreadsheets outright but to make the underlying analysis faster, more transparent, and easier to review.
That positioning matters in private markets, where firms still rely heavily on spreadsheet-based models and internal templates. Mosaic’s message is that speed alone is not enough; the software also has to preserve auditability and flexibility for investment professionals who want to inspect the math and customize outputs. The company explicitly markets the platform around speed, accuracy, insight, and transparency.
The customer logos on Mosaic’s site suggest it is selling into a recognizable slice of the private-markets and advisory world, including firms such as Warburg Pincus, CVC, Evercore, New Mountain, Bridgepoint, Investcorp, Onex, and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Testimonials on the site, attributed to roles such as associate, vice president, senior principal, and managing director, repeatedly frame the product as a way to reduce time spent on model infrastructure, iteration, and review.
With Radical Ventures leading the Series A, Mosaic now has new capital behind a product category that sits at the intersection of AI tooling and financial modeling. Based on the company’s own materials, the immediate focus is clear: help deal teams spend less time linking cells and checking formulas, and more time making investment decisions.
